# Best Portable Sound Machines for Small Apartments Source: https://smallspacebaby.com/best/best-portable-sound-machines Updated: 2026-09-15 Publisher: Small Space Baby. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://smallspacebaby.com/how-we-research#our-score In an apartment, thin walls and neighbor noise can wreck a nap in seconds. A small sound machine helps mask the hallway, the street, and the upstairs footsteps so your baby can settle in a room that is never truly quiet. We favored portable models that run on battery or USB, clip to a crib or bag, and move easily between the nursery, the living room, and trips to grandma's place. ## Picks ### 1.
