When your only storage is a narrow entryway or a hall closet, a full travel system is overkill. An umbrella stroller folds down to a slim stick you can lean in a corner or carry up a flight of stairs, which is exactly what apartment and city life demands. We focused on picks that stay easy to steer one-handed, fold and unfold without a fight, and still feel sturdy on uneven sidewalks. A shoulder strap or self-standing fold is a real bonus when you are juggling a baby and a set of keys.
